Killer Klowns from Outer Space Sequel?

So today  found out some news on Fearnet.com's facebook fan page, that apparently the Chiodo brothers cult classic film Killer Klowns  from outer space has a sequel in the works that is rumored to be released either later 2013 or 2014. It will be called The Return of the Killer Klowns from outer space 3-D.

The film is in the late stages of development, and the script has been finished. Grant Cramer has stated that the crew will need the budget to start production. While the first film cost $2 million (and yet was still a box office failure), the sequel will be far more expensive especially due to featuring 3D. So far, there is very little information of the film. 

So here the thing with this sequel there is no doubt that KKOS 3-D will get a huge following of fans of the first film to see it. The bad thing is that in this day and age almost every movie out has a huge CGI influence throughout the film, and  so that means more than likely they will not being using actors to get in those big clown suits like in the original and their won't be those awesome make up work with the faces. To me that will take away a component that made the first KKOS so popular in becoming a cult classic. 

The first time I seen Killer Klown from Outer Space was when I was around 11 years old and I was spending summer vacation in Detroit visiting my dads side of the family. My cousins and myself stayed up late and watched it on VHS, the shi* scared the crap out of me and up until that moment I had always loved clowns. After that night I still get creeped out when I see clowns because it reminds me of KKOS. I know that it seems crazy that at 32 years old , that this movie would still effect me like this . Well it does and that's a testament to the great make up artist work from the original .
