Movie Love Monday's : Pacific Rim

So today's movie love feature is Guillermo Del Torro's 'Pacific Rim', to be honest besides Idris Elba, Del Torro was the only reason I wanted to see this movie. Why because Mr. Del Torro has some type of magic hidden somewhere up his sleeves when it comes to directing and created movies. Prime example 'Pans Labyrinth', the characters and the creatures in that movie just draw you in, I remember I felt like I was in a trance the whole time watching Pan's. The same can be said for Pacific Rim, like I had a nerdgasm from the first 10 min of the movie it was truly amazeball's. I can see why this movie has drawn in $200.4 so far worldwide.

Here's the jist of Pacific Rim

So basically this film is about this war being fought against these ginormous monsters (Kaiiju) that crawled their way out of a crack in the Pacific Rim on the Pacific Ocean  floor. These inter dimensional creatures all of the sudden just started popping up, so us humans came up with a plan and decided to create these Transformer type robots(Jaeger's), maned by the best of the best soldier's to fight these horrible looking things, and at first it works we get rid of them and our able to keep them at bay. Well that doesn't last long and the creatures get smarter and bigger, so we figure out that two brains our better than one and pilot these robots with two soldiers who then have a type of mind meld which in turn makes it a better fit against the Kaiiju. So everything is going fine they kick ass for a while, then blam the Kaiiju get smarter again and start kicking Jaeger ass. Without giving away the whole movie, the rest of the movie is about how they finally figure out a way to get rid of the Kaiiju once and for all.

The Cast

Pacific Rim has good mix of both veteran and newbies alike in this one. My favorites Idris Elba and Ron Perlman. With newbies to big budget blockbusters, like Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi. This was an awesome cast who as you can see from the movie had great chemistry that really showed up and showed out in this blockbuster.  Here is the official cast line up below.

So if your looking for a good Sci-Fi action movie go see Pacific Rim its still in theatres everywhere. Also there is a rumor that since this has done so well that there will be a sequel in the works, I think that this is a total rumor because of the way this movie ended.  It would be pretty cool though to see the Jaeger's in action again.
