Okay yeah, maybe this show isn't so nerdy so to speak, but it is a favorite of me who tends to totally obsess over really good, funny animated shows. Like seriously every couple of months I do a Netflix marathon of season's 1 and 2. I love this show so much because it really just pushes the limits way past anything that I have seen on TV. Yes I am a total Adult swim fan, and anything Seth Macfarlane fan, but when I saw the first episode of "Archer" I fell into animated love. The MA rating is totally fair judgement of this delightfully sinful series. So in honor of the Season 4 premiere, I would like to introduce the world of Archer characters so you can be caught up with the madness of this show before season 4 starts on January 17th.
About Archer
Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillance is daunting and dangerous,every covert operation and global crisis is actually just another excuse for the ISIS staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain.
Now that you know a little bit about the show lets talk about some of my favorite characters who really make the show truly amazeballs.
First up Pam, she is one of my uber favorite characters on this show she's a super cute, brash, bad ass head of HR for ISIS. Don't let her appearance fool you Pam can roll with the punches just like the other trained agents of ISIS. Pam is also uber big time gossip, and also I think she's bisexual because since I started watching this show she's been trying to get with Agent Lana. Pam's favorite phrase is "Holy Shitsnacks" when first heard her say this I knew hands down that she was always going to be my favorite. Pam's character is played by the talented Amber Nash who's also voiced character's on Aqua Teen and on another favorite Frisky Dingo.
Malory Archer the Ice Queen, her tongue is sharper than cheddar. You don't want to be on the wrong end of anything when it comes to her.As the stern-yet-more-stern director of ISIS, Malory is a highly successful woman in a field almost entirely dominated by men. Any number of whom – including Nikolai Jakov of the KGB and Len Trexler of ODIN – may well be Archer’s father. Malory is played by critically acclaimed , SAG board of director and vice president Jessica Walter ( Arrested Development, Just Shoot Me,Retired at 35,Slums of Beverly Hills,Play Misty For me,Anything Goes).
Lana Kane is the top female agent at ISIS and Archer's ex-girlfriend. A tall, beautiful woman, she is a competent and deadly agent but is constantly frustrated that she is treated as the number two ISIS field agent because Archer's mother runs the agency. Why I love her she can spar with Archer any day and he knows it , and even though she is super model gorgeous at time her self esteem can remind you of a insecure 16 year old teenager. The main sources of this insecurities her freakishly huge hands and the fact that every boyfriend she has ultimately repeatedly cheats on her regardless of her striking beauty. Lana is played by the adorkable, sexy, smart funny woman Aisha Tyler. I've been following Aisha's career since her day's on E!'s 'Talk Soup' a stint which definitely refreshed with Tyler being the first woman and African American to host a top show on the network. Aisha definitely gave me hope that you can be smart, sexy and goofy at the same time. You can catch Aisha on CBS's The Talk as well to get the scoop on the world from her perspective.
Sterling Mallory Archer code name: Duchess, is 184 lb, 6'2", 36 years old, and is considered the world's most dangerous secret agent. He is extremely egotistical and self-involved. Though he shows proficiency in stereotypical spy skills—weapons, driving, martial arts—his only real interest in the job is the opportunity to enjoy a jet-setting lifestyle full of sex, alcohol, thrills, lacrosse, fast cars, and spy toys. Archer is definitely of all time the Jerk from the Jerk store, in every episode he constantly must command attention no matter what is going on. Even through his jerkiness you can't help but you can't help but fall in love with this character, he gives off that love-hate vibe that we all have had to deal with certain people in our own lives. Archer is played by the devilishly funny H.Jon Benjamin, and yes he is the voice of the convince store guy from 'Family Guy', and also Bob from Fox's 'Bob's Burgers'. He's not just a awesomely funny voice over actor he's also a writer, and producer.
